UJIA Mission Possible
In 2003 I took a few friends to Israel on a personal mission. They were so inspired by what they saw that the idea was born to run missions for others who wanted to identify more strongly with the successes and challenges of Israel. Since that time I have chaired “Mission Possible” for UJIA taking mainly women on a journey of discovery as we strive to connect to Israel in a deeply meaningful way.
On 18th-22nd November 2018, we will embark on the 12th “Mission Possible” connecting ourselves as Jewish women with the history, the land, the successes and the challenges of Israel. Click MP 2018 to see the itinerary. Over 4 days we will make new friends as well as return to visit cherished old friends. Mission Possible helps to deepen our connection to Israel so that we have a greater understanding about the “why?” and the need for us, as Jewish Women, to take up the challenge of making a difference through philanthropy.
I am proud to say that having taken up the challenge we have made a significant difference. Although in some years we have been a small group, we have achieved big things, together we have learned more about our history and educated ourselves about the vital work of UJIA raising over £800,000, to help improve the lives of many young people.
A recent participant, Nina Sandler said, “We were overwhelmed by Mission Possible. The impact was so emotional. Not only did we gain a much greater understanding of Israel’s challenges and the vital work carried out by UJIA, but we also left with a feeling of great pride and a much deeper connection to this vibrant country.”
