Blossom for Life

Blossom for Life

“Blossom for Life” is a fundraising campaign that was piloted in 2014 as “Blossom for Chai” at the Chai cancer Spa Day event. The idea was originally developed for Chai, and can now be offered to other charities that support life-threatening illnesses, as a fundraising venture. The campaign calls upon people  to donate a blossom by texting a donation. The image of blossoms, symbolising hope, renewal and blessings.

How it works. Any charity wishing to take part in the campaign will be provided an artist who will create a unique artwork for a virtual tree that needs blossoms on its branches. The donor will text a suggested donation, e.g. £5 per blossom which will add a blossom on the virtual tree. The donor can share to friends “I’ve just blossomed for (insert name of charity) – have you? Text BLOSSOM to 70660 to donate £5 and make their tree bloom.”

The aim is to get as many charities as possible on board to support the campaign, so that “Blossom for Life” could become a national annual fixture called “Blossom for Life Day” in the same way as Comic Relief. Trending the word “Blossom” so that it becomes synonymous with making a donation.
